Equipment includes dual four-barrel carburetors, front bucket seats, a center console, a tilting steering column, and a push-button AM radio along with body-color 14” wheels, power steering, and power-assisted drum brakes. A four-year refurbishment was completed in 1992 and is said to have involved repainting the car in red and re-trimming the black vinyl interior. This Impala SS is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, refurbishment photos, service records.

The car left the factory finished in Palomar Red (948) and was repainted in its current shade of red during the aforementioned refurbishment. The exterior brightwork and headlights were also replaced at that time, and exterior details include an engine-turned tail panel and side spears along with T3 headlights, triple taillight groupings, and SS Impala and 409 badging.

Body-color 14” steel wheels wear SS-style covers and are mounted with 8.00” BFGoodrich Silvertown narrow-whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted drums at all four corners.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl, and work during the aforementioned refurbishment reportedly consisted of replacing the color-coordinated door panels and carpeting as well as the white headliner. Engine-turned-trim adorns the dash and center console, and additional appointments include a tilting steering column, a push-button AM radio, an analog clock, and a cue ball-style shift knob

Instrumentation consists of a central tachometer mounted ahead of a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles.

The replacement 409ci V8 was sourced from a 1964 model and is equipped with dual four-barrel carburetors. The engine number stamping is shown in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

An album of photos documenting work performed under prior ownership will accompany the car along with service records and manufacturer’s literature.
